Over the last five years since we introduced our H.A.W.K.S. values (Helpful, Accountable, Wise, Kind, Safe) to develop social responsibility in our students. This Spring our grade 6 students developed and ran stations every Friday for the benefit of other students. There were a variety of stations such as soccer, crafts, computers, and even Karaoke. While our students had fun and were engaged, it provided leadership opportunities for our grade 6 students. We are being more proactive as a staff to develop leadership in our older students. This group of grade 6 students will be going to Camp in the Fall where we can work with them to further develop positive personal and social responsibility and build a better sense of community within our school.
