Early Literacy Inquiry
Inspired by our school focus, classroom teacher and resource teacher took on an inquiry grant to investigate, what does literacy mean with K/1 students? And how can we grow engagement literacy practices with students to create a holistic reading program?
Topics and activities tried varied in activity and targeted areas of learning.
The team has been able to increased engagement by providing hands on activities and making changes along the way to meet the growing needs of our students. The next step is to take what we have learned to collaborate with our neighbouring class.
