It's Okay to be Different
For our first Family Teams activity of the year our focus stemmed from the book “It’s Okay to be Different” by Todd Parr. Students identified what they are proud of and what made them proud to be who they are. This was an exercise in self-reflection and a stepping stone to connect with our future school goal of identifying our shared values and what it means to be a Hamilton Hawk.
Some of the examples from the students included:
“It’s okay to cry when you are sad”
“It’s okay to be quiet”
“It’s okay to be different”
