After surveying our students and compiling the data, we noticed that there are still students who we feel are not as connected to our community as we would like. Some of the students were not able to, or chose not to, name two adults at the school who they felt believe they will be a success in life. This evidence was apparent in both our school-based survey and the Ministry Student Learning Survey and was more apparent in our upper intermediate students.

This leads us to the question of how do we further nurture a sense of belonging in all our students so that they develop the confidence to be successful as learners, members of our community, and in their future lives?
